Arsenal ready to sell Thomas Partey amid Moises Caicedo and Ilkay Gundogan interest

A

rsenal will consider offers for Thomas Partey this summer as they look to revamp their midfield.

Partey joined Arsenal in 2020 from Atletico Madrid for around £45million and has been a regular since.

The Ghanaian will have two years left on his contract this summer, though, and it is understood the Gunners could be tempted into selling him.

Arsenal are already prepared to let Granit Xhaka go, with Bayer Leverkusen in advanced talks over a £13m move.

Fellow 30-year-old Partey could follow him out the door in what would represent a major overhaul of Arsenal’s midfield.

The Gunners are looking to bring in two new midfielders this summer and West Ham captain Declan Rice is their No1 target. Arsenal had an opening offer rejected last week but will return with a fresh bid.

Rice’s arrival will pave the way for Xhaka to leave and it is a similar story with Partey, as Arsenal will only allow the Ghanaian to go if a replacement can be found.

Moises Caicedo is a long-term target, and Arsenal had two bids for him in January rejected, though Chelsea remain favourites to land the Brighton man.

The Gunners are also admirers of Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan, who is yet to decide if he will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of this month.

As well as Arsenal, Gundogan is attracting interest from Barcelona and clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Like last summer, manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu are pushing to get business done early in the current transfer window.
