Eddie Jordan urges Lewis Hamilton to consider Ferrari switch in self-confessed ‘nonsense’ claim

ewis Hamilton risks going “stale” at Mercedes and should therefore consider a move to Ferrari, according to Eddie Jordan.

The former F1 team boss believes there is still time for the 38-year-old to win a record eighth world title yet it may require a change of team, given the Mercs’ recent struggles.

Although Hamilton has regularly committed his future to Mercedes, Jordan has described why a stint with Ferrari could be a spectacular curtain call for his career.

“I think he would like to win his eighth title but I have a passion in that I think he should go to Ferrari - but that’s just me talking nonsense,” Jordan told talkSPORT.

“The reason why is I don’t want him to become stale, and I think when he was at McLaren he did well but he moved quickly to Mercedes.

“I was one of the people with Nikki Lauda who helped that happen, and then there was a refreshed, rejuvenated Lewis Hamilton, and we know what he’s done since then, however, I think it’s time he moved on.

“I think if there’s an opportunity to go somewhere he should go to Ferrari because every great champion should at least have a spell at Ferrari because it just oozes with style and grandeur.”
