Fulham offer Willian new contract after playing key role under Marco Silva
Brazilian winger enjoyed brilliant season as Cottagers finished in Premier League’s top ten
The 34-year-old winger’s deal is due to expire at the end of the month but he has an offer to match his current terms, worth around £50,000-a-week, with an option for a further year.
Fulham head coach Marco Silva last month said retaining Willian was a “priority”.
The Brazilian enjoyed a brilliant season to help Fulham finish 10th. He has been approached about a move to Saudi Arabia and has European interest, but is settled in London.
Silva himself remains locked in talks with Fulham over a contract extension, and the club’s summer transfer plans are likely to be pivotal in talks.
Willian scored five goals and registered six assists in the Premier League last season and is in contention to win player of the year at Fulham.
He is currently on holiday and will consider what is best for his family, who enjoying living in London.
Fulham are also in talks to keep Tosin Adarabioyo and Manor Solomon, while captain Tom Cairney is attracting interest from relegated Leicester City.
