anchester United have ended their interest in Harry Kane after accepting a deal for the Tottenham striker is a non-starter this summer.

United manager Erik ten Hag had identified Kane as his top summer transfer target but Spurs are adamant he will not be sold to a Premier League rival under any circumstances.

United do not want to be involved in a drawn-out transfer saga for a player who has one year left on his contract and will be a free agent next summer.

They will now switch their focus to more realistic targets, including Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund. The 20-year-old has impressed in Serie A and could cost around £50million.

Kane now looks increasingly likely to remain at Tottenham next season.
