Students berate Just Stop Oil protesters making them late for class
tudents confronted Just Stop Oil activists for making them late to class as fresh protests were held in London on Monday morning.
One girl was seen gesticulating at the slow march as other students zipped past the 45-strong protest on hire bikes.
In scenes in Stratford Broadway, one bystander was seen ripping Just Stop Oil branded posters out of an activist’s hands.
Another man with a large black dog pushes around some of the women activists. The women carry on their march as the man tries to drag his huge pet into the middle of the protest.
One refuse collector at the front of the queue of traffic was unimpressed by the civil act of defiance.
He barked: “They are f***ing idiots the lot of them. Get to work you lazy ****s.”
At 8.45am a Met spokesman tweeted: “Section 12 orders were implemented at Cam Road & Broadway, and the roads were cleared within three minutes.”
Just minutes later officers responded to another slow march protest on Old Brompton Road in Kensington & Chelsea.
The latest action came as a Just Stop Oil spokesperson refused to deny the group would try to disrupt Wimbledon.
Just Stop Oil is said to have told an undercover reporter that the group are planning a protest at the iconic tennis tournament similiar to when an activist glued themselves to a snooker table at The Crucible.
Activists are volunteering to be part of the protest to form an “inspiring image” broadcast to the entire world.
A spokesperson for the group said: “The only way for sporting events, like Wimbledon, to be sure that there will be no disruption is for them to make a statement demanding that the government end new oil, gas and coal.”
