ottenham's European hopes suffered another blow as were beaten 3-1 by Brentford in their final home game of the season.

Harry Kane's stunning 25-yard free-kick put Spurs ahead, and Emerson Royal, Arnaut Danjuma, Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski all had chances to extend their lead before the interval.

But Brentford dominated the second half, and Bryan Mbuemo scored two smart finishes into the far corner to turn the game on its head. Yoan Wissa wrapped up another landmark win for Ivan Toney-less Brentford, who moved to within a point of Spurs.

Dan Kilpatrick was at White Hart Lane to rate the Spurs players...

Fraser Forster 5

Well beaten for all three goals, with Mbuemo's both smart finishes into the far corner. Distribution was positive.

Emerson Royal 7

Unlucky to have an effort cleared off the line in the first half. Neither of Mbuemo's goals came down his side.

Davinson Sanchez 5

Fortunate not to foul Kevin Schade in the box early on and uncomfortable in possession. Went close at the other end with a header.

Clement Lenglet 5

Might have got tighter to his men in the build-up to Mbeumo first goal.

Ben Davies 4

At fault for both Mbuemo's goals, failing to close him down for the first before the forward ran behind him for the other.

Yves Bissouma 7

Added poise and dynamism to the midfield, suggesting he can be a big player next season. Tired in the second half but this was encouraging.

Oliver Skipp 4

Has faded a bit lately (which is understandable after playing so little football in the first half of the season) and was carelessly dispossessed ahead of Wissa's late goal.

Arnaut Danjuma 6

Not everything he did came off but he was positive, and tried to beat his man. Went close with a flicked header beyond the far post.

Dejan Kulusevski 6

More impressive than he has been for ages in his preferred No10 role during the first half, testing David Raya with a shot. Faded after the break but still set up a Kane chance.

Heung-min Son 5

Initially looked at home back in 4-2-3-1 system and created chances for Emerson and Danjuma. Barely had a kick after the break.

Harry Kane 7

Scored with a stunning 25-yard free-kick (sort of) to become the first player to score in 25 different Premier League games in a single season. A shining light again in another difficult afternoon.

Substitutes

Lucas Moura (Danjuma 65') 5

A farewell appearance at home involved the usual intensity but lack of end product.

Richarlison (Kulusevski 75') 6

Twice forced saves from Raya late on with headers. Should really try to stay on his feet more after going down optimistically in the hope of a penalty.

Pedro Porro (Emerson 75') 6

Had a decent stoppage-time effort well blocked as Spurs pushed for a late goal.

Ivan Perisic (Davies 85') 5

Not used: Austin, Tanganga, Dier, Craig, Sarr.
